Chris Ringewald

Associate Director of Research

Chris Ringewald, Associate Director of Research, oversees research efforts, builds organizational research capacity, and forges partnerships with researchers sharing Advancement Project’s goals. His research contributions have included community safety scorecards that prevent, intervene in, and reduce violence; early care and education analyses that increase access; community health needs assessments for hospitals and medical service area planning; and demographic analyses supporting government processes, such as census counts, redistricting, and elections. Chris is a certified geographic information systems professional (GISP) and has extensive experience in place-based initiatives, having provided founding research for initiatives such Promise Neighborhoods, The California Endowment’s Building Healthy Communities Initiative, and others. He holds a master’s degree in planning and is a firm believer in bringing community voice and hard data together in decisionmaking.
