Portrait of Jennifer Arceneaux

she/her/hers

Jennifer Arceneaux collaborates with program staff to research new funding opportunities, build relationships with diverse foundations, and ultimately win grants that support the organization in its fight for racial and economic justice.

A skilled technical and persuasive writer, she drafts everything from grant applications and progress reports to program updates, proposals for conference presentations, and award applications. One of her most successful assignments was the nomination of Catalyst California's Founding Co-Director Connie Rice for the Independent Sector John W. Gardner Leadership Award. Jennifer studied the communication styles of former LAPD Chiefs William Bratton and Charlie Beck, as well as foundation president Dr. Robert K. Ross of The California Endowment, in order to create draft language that they incorporated into their nomination letters, helping Connie win one of the nonprofit sector’s highest honors.

A nonprofit generalist, she has had the privilege to work only for organizations whose missions inspired her – whether they focused on performing and visual arts, youth development, or racial justice. She has contributed as a grantwriter, program officer, executive assistant, membership coordinator, interim executive director, and summer arts camp manager.

Jennifer was born and raised in Los Angeles and attended local public and private schools. She lives in South L.A. with her husband and two young children.
